Yes—once it gets dark, it performs comfortably. Like any compact projector, it isn’t designed to compete with direct daylight. With roughly 120–200 ANSI lumens, you’ll get the best results at night or in a dimly lit room.
For Halloween displays and movie nights, that’s exactly when you’ll be using it anyway. Just don’t expect a vivid image in the middle of the afternoon with the blinds wide open.
How far back does it need to go?
How far back does it need to go?
- For window projections: Place it roughly 2.5 feet from the window to fill a standard-sized pane. A side table, shelf, or stack of books usually works perfectly.
For a full 130-inch display: Position it about 8.5 feet from the screen or wall.
Any distance in between works too. Auto keystone correction helps straighten the image when the projector is slightly off-centre, so setup doesn’t need to be perfectly aligned.

The projector isn’t weatherproof, so it should never be left exposed to rain or moisture. For the classic haunted-window effect, that’s no problem—the projector stays safely indoors while the scene appears on the glass.
For outdoor movie nights, place it under a covered area and keep the power connection protected. Since it plugs into a wall outlet, setting it up close to the house is usually the easiest option.
